Our valued supplier Canon has brought back their Canon Oceania Grants program in 2021 and applications are still open. Canon’s guiding philosophy is ‘kyosei’ which means living and working together for the common good. Their commitment to social responsibility and this philosophy guides Canon to continue giving back through these programs.
The Canon Oceania Grants program is available for schools and small businesses working on something special that could benefit from $5,000. Having supported over 75 schools, not-for-profits and community groups with more than $450,000 in the past 15 years, this program has made major contributions to these organisations and their projects. In 2021, Canon is offering over $30,000 worth of grants across Australia and New Zealand made up of cash and Canon equipment.
In previous years these grants have been made up of $4,000 of Canon products and $1,000 of cash. As of 2021, the grant is split equally offering $2,500 towards the product and a further $2,500 cash for successful organisations. This decision by Canon comes in an effort to support eligible causes trying to rebuild in a weaker economy, demonstrating the brand’s awareness of the current situation and challenges presenting to those trying to make a difference in their communities.
The prizes for Australia include
1 x Educational Grant - $2,500 product and $2,500 cash
1 x Community Grant - $2,500 product and $2,500 cash
1 x Small-medium Businesses Grant - $2,500 product and $2,500 cash
1 x Runner-up Grant - $1,000 cash
The top three entries in each category will move through to a public vote giving the community a chance to choose who wins. Finalists will be selected based on the merits of their project or organisation and how important Canon technology is to achieving success for their project. Not-for-profits must apply in the community category and applications are open until 5:00pm AEST 30 July 2021.
