Our business name might be Inland Technology, but the “Why Inland idea” is bigger than us.
The Inland region of NSW boasts many reasons as to why businesses based here can thrive in the same markets as our coastal cities. Until earlier this year Sydney was recognised as possessing particular strengths in key sectors, including professional and financial services, ICT, education, construction, manufacturing, arts and culture. However with the changing world dynamic and the Work from Anywhere ideal, the “big city means success” appeal has diminished.
Over the past 6 months the trends show people are moving or returning to Inland NSW, but what does that mean long term?
Regional (Inland) NSW is already home to three million people - 40% of the total NSW population. It is the most diverse regional economy in Australia, generating a third of all economic activity in our state.
Lets dive into those numbers a little further in the regions that Inland Technology services:
-
The New England North West region contributes over A$8.4 billion to the NSW economy as a significant agricultural producer and processor.
-
The Central West and Orana region contributes over A$14.0 billion to the NSW economy in gross value added, with 12% from mining and a further 17.6% from agribusiness.
-
The Hunter is the largest economy in Regional NSW contributing over A$34.7 billion, with mining accounting for 38% of output in the region.
-
The Far West contributes over A$2 billion to the NSW economy in gross value added, 17% from agribusiness and food, 22% from construction and infrastructure, and 19% from mining and resources.
Underpinning these industries is an extensive services sector in agribusiness, education, health, technology, and transport and logistics, provided by the numerous tertiary institutions, government departments, and Research Centres.
Construction of the Inland Rail has commenced and will further support growth in our regions. The Inland Rail will support regional NSW’s most productive agricultural commodity regions with increased transport competitiveness.
With all the changes across the Inland landscape, no wonder it is increasingly becoming the “in-LAND of Opportunity”. We love that being regional allows businesses to tap into the dynamism and creativity of Sydney and Brisbane (when the border is open), while, at the same time, have access to all the lifestyle and cost advantages that only a regional area can bring.
At Inland Technology, we are proud to service our regional partners who are making the most of Inland NSW, creating a prosperous economy and wealth of opportunities for those looking to relocate.
